Note | About 1820, James shifted his interests from Virginia to Kentucky and farmed there until his death in Kentucky. This is James Chandler, Sr. Will November 2, 1841 Calloway County, Kentucky This is to testify to all to whom these presents shall ever come that I James Chandler Senior have this day in a perfect state of min do hereunto affix my affairs I bequeath to Thomas and Francis Mari on the quarter section where I now live with the exception of five acres deeded to James Gohean and my wife to have one third of said land during her lifetime-And I want Edwin P. Chandler to have on e hundred dollars and I bequeath to Henry M. Chandler one horse with forty dollars and one ten dollar cow and three head of sheep worth four dollars and fifty cents and I want James M. Chandler Jr. t o have one cow worth ten dollars and three head of sheep worth four dollars and fifty cents - and I want Susannah H. Wyatt to have one cow worth ten dollars and three head of sheep worth four dollar s and fifty cents and I bequeath to James M. and Henry M. Chandler the North East quarter of Section thirty two Township four Range _ East containing one hundred and sixty acres be it more or less t o be equally divided between the two = And I bequeath to Thomas and Francis M. Chandler cash a forty dollar horse and a ten dollar saddle and a ten dollar cow each and three head of sheep worth four d ollars and fifty cents and one feather bed and furniture each to way (weigh) 40 pounds each and to have a ten dollar rifle gun each the above articles to be delivered when the boys arrive at the age o f twenty one years and I want property enough to be sold to pay my debts and the rest to be divided and my wife to have one third of everything else and an equal division of all the rest of the two th irds among all the children from the oldest to the youngest and - and I want to appoint Edwin P. Chandler Executor of my will and for him to have full power to manage the aforesaid will a s I do hereunto mention. Given under my hand the day and date first mention above. James M. Chandler Senior Attest: Jedekiah Brooks and Theirjamin M. Kinsey Note: This will was made Nov. 2, 1841 and James Chandler Sr. died Nov. 14, 1841 just 12 days later. About 1820 James Chandler shifted his interests from Virginia to Kentucky and carried on primitive, though successful farming until his death. He was the father of nine children.
