Information from the 1880 Rockwall County, Texas census taken June 1, 1880, District #1. Living with Thomas and Caroline and their children another child name Lizzie Wilman was listed. She was White , Female and 16 years old. Step-daughter, single and born in Illinois. Lizzie's parents were both born in Illinois.

T.J. Chandler in 1861 enlisted in the southern army and served under Cheatham and Polk Army of Tennessee. He was in the battles of Shiloh, Corinth, Vicksburg, Jackson, Port Hudson, and Baton Rouge an d was with the service in Mississippi when the war ended. He was a Private and in all the engagements and skirmishes he passed through the four years of duty unharmed and uninjured. At the age of 2 4 he began civil life as a farmer and continued in Calloway County, Kentucky until his departure to Texas in the early 1870's. In 1873 T.J. Chandler settled in Kaufman County, Texas. Later in Montag ue County, Texas he purchased 160 acres of land 1 mile from Fruitland and 90 acres of it was planted to fruit. In 1903 his fruit crop brought him more money than his farm cost him. T.J. Chandler app lied for Confederate Pension in Montague County, Texas. Application #24855 Book #5 and application was approved.
