Born June 24 to Jesse Lorenzia Altman and Ida Ellis Fisher Altman. Preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Jesse Jr., Wiley F . "Bo", & C.E., and sisters: Jesse Gloria & Geraldine. She is survived by her daughters: Deni Mize & husband Mike of Galveston; Jerrie Branner of Spring; Tracy Varner & husband Doyle of Bellaire; Kell y Gurgos and husband Rick of Spring; grandchildren: Michael & Courtney Mize, Cameron & Courtney Mize Steinmetz, Garrett & Ashley Branner, Justin & Allison Branner, Jenny Varner, Russell Varner, Jess e Varner, Austin Gurgos, Victoria Gurgos; & great-grandson Nolan Ryan Steinmetz; brother James M. Altman & numerous family members & friends. Wanda was a native Houstonian who graduated from Stephen F . Austin High School. She was a member of Ludtke Methodist Church & Bellaire United Methodist Church where she was also a Sunday school teacher and teacher at the School for Little Children. She worke d many years at PACE Management Corporation as the Show Coordinator for the Boat Shows. Wanda will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, & friend. Sh e will be deeply missed by many and cherished in our hearts forever. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that memorial contributions be given in Wanda's name to the Leukemia Society . A memorial service is to be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in the Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel.
