| Note | WILL OF PATIENCE JENKINS BUTE COUNTY RECORDS, PART 2 - 1778 "In the name of God Amen I PATIENCE JENKINS of Bute County & Parish of St. Johns Being Sick & weak in body but of Perfect,mind & memory thanks be to Almighty God & calling to Mind the uncertainty of t he Transitory life & Being willing to settle my worldly affairs in order to make this my last Will & Testament I commend my soul to God who gave it hoping thro the death & merits of his son Jesus Chri st my Savior to be made Partaker of the never fading joys of immortality at the day of resurrection & for temporal Estate it hath Pleased God to bestow upon me I give & Bequeath the same in manner & f orm following (Viz,( First I give & bequeath unto my son THOMAS JENKINS the land & plantation whereon I now live & tis my will & Desire that the crop now on the Plantation after my Decease be sold & after my just debts ar e paid out of the money rising from the sale of the crop & then the remainder of the money with all my other Estate be equally divided amongst all my eight children & lastly I do authorize and appoin t my son THOMAS JENKINS to be Executor of my last will & testament hereby revoking & making void all former will or wills heretofore made & Confirming this and none other to be my last will & testamen t in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy eight."
