He was the son of A. W. and Bessie Murphy. He was a veteran of WW II. He was a truck driver. He was residing in Houston at the time of his death there. He was survived by his wife, Winnie Estella Ker sh; two son, Thomas Mervin Murphy and Robert Dwayne Murphy; four daughters, Eurshell Euedell Endell, Lynden Marcelle Marcell, Marlene Wynell Murphy and Carlene Wennitt Murphy, all of Houston; his pare nts of Houston; one brother, Alvin Murphy of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Pete Muskitt, Mrs. D.F. Norwood and Mrs. Carnie Magee of Houston; grandfather, B. F. Palmer of Houston; one step-son, Hershe l Maxwell of Houston; and two stepdaughters, Miss Nelwyn Bryan of Houston and Miss Grace Maxwell of Fort Worth. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Wednesday, 6 April 1955.
