| Note | Birth: Apr. 8, 1904Death: Jan. 17, 2002 Ira L. Bone, 97, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Trinity Baptist Church with Carey Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Bone was born in Hildago County. He married Edna Opal Goebring in 1928, and she preceded him in death. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1963. He later married Mattie Mae Bufkin in 1968 at Amarillo. He was a charter member of Texas Credit Union Association, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, the Hall of Fame and a membe r of the Amarillo Bowling Association. He was the founding member of a senior bowling league, and it was later named the Ira Bone Senior Men's League. He bowled until he was 88 years old. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his second wife and three brothers. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mary Helen Bohrer of Amarillo; a son, Lee Bone of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Bowling Association, Scholarship Fund, in care of Gorden Rice, 7411 Sleepy Hollow Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79121.
